E Mail on Steroids has a zero-tolerance spam policy. EMOS's administration is proactive. Any customer found to be using EMOS for spam will be immediately cut-off from use of the product. If you know of or suspect any violators, please notify us immediately at abuse@emailonsteroids.org. Only vetted email lists are added to our system. Customers who send email via the EMOS system cannot bring in their own email lists. This prevents the addition of email addresses whose authenticity as being valid mail recipients cannot be verified via standard IP confirmation signup procedures. If you experience problems with the receipt of an email from the EMOS system sent on the behalf of an advertiser please use the removal system or contact the abuse@emailonsteroids.org address immediately. Every email sent via the EMOS system contains several methods of unsubscribing. The removal information appears at the bottom of ANY email sent via the EMOS system and no advertiser has ANY way of removing this information. EMOS messages contain the following removal methods. 1) A physical mail address Life Consulting Services 2) A telephone removal 3) Manual web removal. 4) Automatic web removal 5) Email removal What is Spam? Spam is unsolicited email also known as UCE (Unsolicited Commercial Email). By sending email to only to those who have requested to receive it, you are following accepted permission-based email guidelines. What constitutes a Preexisting business relationship? The recipient of your email has made a purchase, requested information, responded to a questionnaire or a survey, or had offline contact with you. What constitutes consent? The recipient of your email has been clearly and fully notified of the collection and use of his email address and has consented prior to such collection and use. Our Bulk Mailing service began modestly in late 2001. Some early choices based upon advice offered by consultants caused us some growth pains and some setbacks. A tough look was conducted at our entire operation in late 2003 and fundamental operational, personnel, software, and equipment changes were made. We have invested years of effort into conducting ourselves in a completely transparent and honest fashion. For it was obvious to continue do business as a responsible Bulk Mailing company that we needed to vigorously abide by all legal rules both State and Federal in addition to the majority consensus of suggested rules even if they did not have the binding force of law. This is not to say that we respect vigilante tactics that are used by some unethical AntiSpam groups who believe that their is no such as thing as Commercial Email (UC) and treat everything as Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE). Some outlaw elements in the AntiSpam groups indulge in various purely illegal activities such as deliberating providing personal and private employee information to individuals so that stalking can take place or threatening phone calls and even attempts to hack into computers to bring them crashing down. Such tactics are NOT the recourse of ethical individuals. Other AntiSpam groups tend to side to far on the side of caution due to all the previous violators they have encountered and will lump a company into the SPAM category simply because they send UC of any type. Other groups such as SPAMCOP http://www.spamcop.net/ are reasonably fair although they provide few tools to directly refute a charge of SPAM from an email recipient by the Bulk Mailing company. The following comprises the list of ways we work excessively hard to protect our investment in personnel, software, equipment and reputation so that we deal strictly with UC and we do it responsibly. We own and operate our own facility. All Firewall, DNS, WebServers and Mailing Servers are our own equipment. No outside entity is allowed access to our systems. No mailing clients are allowed access to the physical hardware. No mailing clients are allowed anything but graphical user interface (GUI) web based links to manage their accounts. We maintain very rigorous defenses to prevent illegal intrusion in our systems or attempts to subvert them. We also do not use PROXY Servers or Relay Servers. Every Internet Communication transacted by our Servers is going to be completely trackable to the Server that originated it. In addition we are insanely anal about retaining the logs of our operations, be they WebServer logs, DNS Logs, Firewall Logs, MailServer logs (for every single one) and Bounced Email logs. We do this so that we can look back at any point in time over the last 5 years and provide log evidence of our activities. This is important if claims are made against us that are unsubstantiatable. At present our File Server which is responsible for maintain all of this historical information has 4,000 Gigabytes (aka 4 Terabytes) of space in use for this purpose. And that's with the logs all in a COMPRESSED format. Next we have through ARIN http://www.arin.net we have retained our own IP Address Block of Internet IP numbers that exclusively ours to use as we WANT to be completely trackable and accountable. We retained these IPs effective May 2004 and they range from 64.246.224.0 thru 64.246.239.255. We have done this because an absolutely STANDARD series of practices of TRUE SPAMmers is to mask their IPs, change IPs frequently, change hosting services frequently, change servers and software frequent ALL in an attempt to defeat SPAM detection software and to get away from the backlash of sending UCE. By having our own IPs we make everything absolutely trackable, static, identifiable. This also helps deal with issues were rogue groups attempt to FORGE their addresses as coming from our servers but FORGED headers will not trace properly to our servers proving that the UCE received is not from us as we only deal in CE. We maintain for ALL our Servers full DNS forward and reverse records. All of our Mailing Servers have full MX records and also full Sender Policy Framework (SPF) http://www.openspf.org/FAQ entries. SPAMmers will NOT have these records because with statically addressed servers with full trackability it would mean that AntiSpam software could easily and utterly filter out their messages. By making sure we have these records we are completely accountable for our mailing practices. We take EACH AND EVERY user complaint absolutely seriously because a listing against our servers in the AntiSpam community can have 1,000 times more impact than it would EVER have against a SPAMmer. Out of 147 AntiSpam blacklisting services which cover the majority of the SPAM fighting community we are clean on 145 of them and the 2 that we are not we are striving to meet the any additional compliances they want from us. At present our system contains 70,000,000 email addresses and we maintain FULL contact information for each email address subscribed into our system. Which means we have First Name, Last Name, Address1, Address2, City, State, Zip, Phone Number, IP Address Subscribed From. Date of Subscription to the system, and in some case demographics data such as Best Time To Call, Best Days To Call, and Categories of Interest. No email in the system is keep that does not have such information. Our investment in these records is extensive and important to us and COMPLETELY proprietary we do not sell it to others and we do not share our removal system with others. The second reason that we maintain full records on each email accounts is that our emailing clients also may wish to send Postal Offers or call with a Phone Solicitation so if we did not maintain full records these additional offers would be unavailable. We absolutely honor ANY AND ALL removal requests. If you no longer want to be in our system then we will remove you. It would be insane for us to risk 10's of millions of willing customers over a customer that wishes to leave!. At present over 2,500 people per day removal themselves from the system each and every day 365 days a year. At present 13,156,458 emails reside in our Global Remove database and it grows every day. And we take unsubscription very seriously because once you have removed yourself from our system we have made it very hard to get back in. How hard you ask? You must send in signed and notarized letter via the Postal Service requesting to be resubscribed and include a $20 handling fee. We have done this because we want people to know that if they wanted OUT then we're not going to risk sending you another email without SERIOUS proof you wanted back in again. Our removal system is dynamic. We provide several ways to remove yourself from our system. First is via VoiceMail you call our number leave your email address and within 48 hours it will be removed permanently. Second is via Postal Mail when we receive your letter or post card you will be removed within 48 hours. Third is via email all email unsubscribes are handled within 48 hours the reason that they are not immediate is that we ourselves are constantly being SPAM'd by thousands of messages per day to our contact addresses that have been scavenged by SPAMmers through webcrawlers and bots so we have to find an unsubscribe email in the midst of this deluge. The fourth method is via the manual remove option at the bottom of EVERY email we send it leads you to a webpage where you put in your email address and you will be unsubscribed immediately from the our databases. Finally method five is use the automatic unsubscribe option at the bottom of EVERY email we send and that immediate removes you with no typing required by you. Please note in the immediate options there is a small chance you could receive 1 email that was already queued prior to your removing yourself. A general breakdown of our removals from a recent analysis from 06/15/2009 shows that Type 1 Removals are around 5 per day, Type 2 are at 20 per day, Type 3 are at 100 per day, Type 4 are at 1,000 per day and Type 5 are averaging 1,500 per day. Additional emails addresses are automatically removed for technical reasons. If our mailing servers try to send an email to an email account that doesn't exist anymore at the target domain or the target domain itself doesn't exist anymore those records are removed. At present we removal over 4,000 such addresses each and every day. And finally there are services such as AOL www.aol.com that maintain their TOS Whitelist service where they send us the email addresses of individuals who no longer wish to be in our system and we remove those promptly at present that service delivers 800 automatic removals per day. So it is easy to see over 2,500,000 email addresses are removed from the system each year minimum. Now as to the types of emails we send out on the behalf of our mailing clients. First we absolutely DO NOT ACCEPT mail runs for ANY and ALL types of the following products: Pharmaceuticals, ADULT be it a product or a website, and Mortgage Offers. Too much Internet SPAM is from these areas and we have no interest in trying to accept customers who want to email these offers to people. 90% of all emails sent on the behalf of our mailing clients are written by our staff to reduce the chance of a mailing client attempting to slip through an email in a banned category. Any and ALL infractions of our rules by a mailing client will result in their immediate termination. All email offers are sent in both plain text and HTML format. No tricky characters or any known SPAM technique is allowed to be used in these design of an outgoing letter. Any graphics appearing in a letter will be served from our http://images.emailonsteroids.org/ image server again to prevent any abuse of our system. No mailing client has ANY type access to our system except through a specialized console with absolutely limited functionality. Master administration access is limited to 1 person. Assistant administration access is limited to 2 people. All other employees of the company are limited web and ftp access only. NO OUTSIDE PARTIES are authorized for the use of emailonsteroids.org. NONE. We do not have affiliates, partners or anyone. All our emails have complete headers and will properly reverse to our servers. Forgeries of our messages can be identified in seconds. A emailing clients website can only be reached by clicking on the link in the email received which comes through our servers database record for that mailing client. Again this to allow our accounts team to make sure that the final destination of an email must be meet with our requirements and not included banned advertising areas. As in other infractions immediate termination of an account occurs on a violation. Our mailing clients ARE NOT ALLOWED to import their lists for mailing purposes they are paying to use OUR mailing lists which WE control and we will not have our very valuable lists contaminated with outside lists that have been acquired via incorrect subscription means. As we are not perfect in the past back in Jan 2005 one mailing client found a loophole in our proprietary software and managed to upload their own list. A single mail run generated thousands of complaints on the SPAMCOP system. That customer was immediately terminated. The loophole fixed. The uploaded list purged from the system and several months were spent reacquiring our good name with SPAMCOP. At present we operate 192 MailServers in our network under the emailonsteroids.org domain. With over 79,157,210 registered subscribed email accounts, 41,906,994 active subscribers and 3440 email clients we generate anywhere from 1,250,000 to 9,750,000 email offers per day from our network out into the Internet. In every email we send the universal resource indicator (URI) of our mailing domain will appear in messages a variety of ways from the mail server identifier, to the www link, to the images server links.
